Anastasia Tasopoulou

Assistant Professor

Anastasia Tasopoulou is an Assistant Professor of Urban Policies at the Department of Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and Regional Development Engineering. She is a Spatial Planning, Urban Planning and Regional Development Engineer (University of Thessaly, 1998), holds an MSc: Development and Planning (University College of London, 1999) and a PhD from the Department of Architecture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2011).
She has participated in 15 research programs, several of which are international (HORIZON 2020, ESPON, ARCHIMED / INTERREG, EU Programme ‘Energy, Environment and Sustainable Tourism’, Intelligent Energy Europe Programme), whose research fields include: urban regeneration policy, policies for sustainable urban development and digital governance, metropolitan governance, economic crisis and resilience, energy-spatial-socioeconomic planning and sustainability. She has published articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings and has developed significant educational activity in university institutions, at undergraduate and postgraduate level (AUTH, DPTH, DIPAE, EAP). For 20 years she has been a freelancer, researcher of spatial and urban planning studies. Since 2008, she has been continuously participating in the Management of the Greek Association of Urban, Spatial and Regional Development Engineers (SEMPCHPA), and is currently Vice-President of the Central Board of Directors and President of the Northern Greece Regional Department. She is Curator of the first Scientific Committee of Specialization (SEC) of Spatial, Urban and Development Engineers at the Technical Chamber of Greece.
